The APPG on Bowel Cancer aims to meet at least twice a year to carry out official group business and administration, as well as to discuss the most pressing issues facing bowel cancer patients. You can read about our past and upcoming meetings below.
Past meetings
- How an NHS workforce plan can drive earlier diagnosis through cancer screening, Tuesday 11 July 2023, 5-6:30pm, House of Commons
The APPG on Bowel Cancer met in Parliament on Tuesday 11 July 2023. There was a panel discussion as well as a Q&A session. The discussion was around workforce challenges currently affecting bowel cancer outcomes. The panel also talked about how an NHS workforce strategy could help improve access to screening and earlier diagnosis of bowel cancer, when it’s most treatable and curable. - Launch of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Bowel Cancer, Wednesday 19 April 2023, 1-2pm, House of Commons
On Wednesday 19 April 2023, the APPG on Bowel Cancer celebrated its launch at a Parliamentary event during Bowel Cancer Awareness Month. The event brought together bowel cancer patients, clinicians, representatives of Bowel Cancer UK and Parliamentarians to hear about why the APPG has been set up and its priorities for the year ahead. - Inaugural meeting, Tuesday 25 October 2022
The APPG on Bowel Cancer met in parliament on Tuesday 25 October 2022 to formally establish the group. MPs who attended had the opportunity to talk to Bowel Cancer UK's Chief Executive, Genevieve Edwards, about the key issues facing people affected by bowel cancer and the reasons why the APPG was set up.
