Free Will writing service
We’ve teamed up with three free Will writing service providers, so that you can write or update a simple Will for free. By using these services, you’re under no obligation to include us in your Will.
However, if you do plan on leaving a gift to us in your Will, then we’d be truly grateful. Your gift will help us to fund vital research. Your gift will help us provide crucial support for those affected by the disease. And your gift will help us to save lives.
Write your Will online
Write your Will easily, safely and for free online with our partner, Make a Will Online. They’ll take you step by step through the simple process. When you’re done, your Will will be checked by a trained solicitor. (This service is only available in England and Wales).
Write your Will at home with a telephone or video call
Arrange a home visit, video, or phone call with our partner, The Goodwill Partnership and write your free Will at a time convenient to you. A trained counsellor will walk you through the process and take your Will instructions. Your Will is then checked by a panel firm of solicitors who can also provide legal advice and storage of your signed Will. (Available to England and Wales only).
Write your Will at your local Solicitors
Our partners, the National Free Wills Network, offer a free Will writing service and/or Will updates with a local professional solicitor. The Network will send you a pack in the post that lists participating law firms in your area for you to choose from and arrange an appointment with. There are over 880 solicitors involved in the Network, so your options should always be nearby – typically, no more than a 15 minute drive from home. (Available in all four UK Nations).
Please note that this limited offer is subject to availability and, where applicable, an age limit may apply.
Other options and support
Our free Will writing services cover simple Wills, which is the type of will the majority of people need. However, you may prefer to write your Will with a solicitor of your choosing at your own cost, if you:
- have a large estate
- are worried about mental capacity or challenge to your Will
- have complex requirements, such as trust assets
Unfortunately, we can’t give any recommendations for solicitors. For a local law firm that fits your needs take a look at the Law Society website.
If you do go down this route, you can download our Will planner to help you prepare for a Will writing appointment.
For any questions about writing your Will for free with our partners or about leaving a gift in your Will to Bowel Cancer UK, you can contact Sarah in confidence on 020 7940 1769 or legacies@bowelcanceruk.org.uk.
