2025 Annual Report
Looking back at 2025, we’re so proud of everything we’ve achieved together and so grateful for the support of our incredible community.
Our supporters, volunteers, donors, researchers, health professionals, policymakers and partners are the driving force behind everything we do and we can’t thank you enough. If you’re one of 10,670 incredible people who donated and fundraised for us, the 444 people who generously volunteered their time, or you’ve been there with us in 2025 in other ways, you've helped us to achieve so much, including:
- Increased awareness and understanding of bowel cancer: We’ve taken our roadshow to 10 new locations, spotlighted symptoms information with our #PassItOn campaign in Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, brought 16 new parliamentary champions on board to advocate for people affected by bowel cancer and, and broken-down barriers with Andrex® through our #LookBackAndTrack campaign. Meanwhile our #GetOnARoll partnership just keeps on rolling with our twelfth partner signing up to add the symptoms of bowel cancer to toilet roll packs.
- Helped to remove the barriers to an earlier diagnosis: With your help, we awarded £524,000 of research funding across four new projects focusing on bowel cancer diagnosis, taking our total investment in research since 2017 to £2.9 million. Your support has also helped us influence national policy and reform, including ensuring the experiences of people with bowel cancer are at the heart of the new National Cancer Plan for England and the 10-Year Health Plan for England.
- Helped to get the right treatment and care to every patient: We provided guidance and support to health professionals, engaging with over 2,100 of them. And of course, we’ve made sure that everyone has access to free bowel cancer information they know they can trust, with 270,000 printed publications distributed, 17,000 downloaded and 1.5 million views of our online health information.
- Supported people to better cope with bowel cancer: We’ve provided over 3.6 million moments of support to patients, their families and carers, and to health professionals and the wider bowel cancer community and supported more than 49,000 people through our online communities and services.
This is just a fraction of what we’ve achieved together over the last year. None of this would be possible without you. Whether you’ve tackled a new challenge, become a champion in your community, shared your story, followed along on our social media, or donated, you’re truly making a difference. Thank you so much for your support.
Our five year strategy: 'On a Mission'
In July 2023 we launched our new five-year strategy, 'On a Mission'. This set out how we'll continue to work relentlessly towards our vision of a future where nobody dies from bowel cancer.
There are four goals that form the building blocks of our strategy:
- Goal one: Increase awareness and understanding of bowel cancer
- Goal two: Remove the barriers to people being diagnosed quickly and at the earliest possible stage
- Goal three: Get the right treatment and care to every patient
- Goal four: Support people to cope better with bowel cancer
Read our strategy in full to find out more about these four main goals and how we're going going to achieve them.
This strategy will run for five years from January 2023 to December 2028. Each year, we'll report on progress and review the strategy to ensure it's still fit for purpose in an ever-changing world.
We'll work with our partners and the bowel cancer community to deliver our ambitious targets. We hope you'll join us as we work towards a future where nobody dies of bowel cancer.
