You can work at your own pace, knitting when it suits you and coming together for those affected by bowel cancer.
No, you can choose your own knitting patterns and set your own challenge. The pattern as an option for you to adapt our unique symbol into your own designs and help to inspire creativity.

You don’t have to knit every day, but we do want it to be a challenge.
The challenge throughout March should be fun and achievable for you and ultimately raise vital funds for those affected by bowel cancer.
There’s lots of ways you can fundraise as part of the March knitting challenge. Let’s unravel some of our ideas below:
- Set up an online fundraising page using our JustGiving page using this link.
- Collect donations in person, using our sponsor forms here.
- Hold your own knitting event — sell items, host a coffee morning or a craft fair.

As much as we would love to accept donations, we don't have the resources to accept any knitted items.
We recommend getting in touch with organisations like your local library, community groups, hospitals and hospices.
Our challenge doesn't have a minimum fundraising target for participants. However we suggest setting yourself a target of raising £100 or more.
Everyone who signs up will receive a welcome pack, which includes our Star of Hope pattern guide, a handy tracker and a link to our Facebook Knitting Group.
We encourage you to take part in March to come together in this month as a knitting community. However, you’re welcome to start at a time which suits you, or if it’s a busy time, you can continue any project(s) into April and beyond.
Once you have signed up, join our Facebook Knitting Group for inspiration and start planning your challenge and get knitting.
If you don't have Facebook, we can send any resources and tips via email instead.
Please get in touch with the team by emailing [email protected].
We'd like you to enjoy the knitting challenge and try your best to complete as much of the month as you can. If you can’t complete for any reason, please get in touch with the team.
We don't recommend any branded style or colour in particular, however in our example we used Women’s Institute Premium Acrylic Yarn from Hobbycraft, DK 100% acrylic. You could use any composition with a similar thickness.
Yes, we’d love for you to take part as part of team. Please get in touch with us and let us know.
Gift Aid is a tax relief allowing UK charities to reclaim an extra 25% on every eligible donation made by a UK taxpayer. This means that we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated, without it costing you or your sponsors an extra penny. If the donation is eligible for Gift Aid, please get in touch to request a Gift Aid form.
