Reporting to: Research Manager
Salary: £31,500 per annum plus London weighting if applicable
Location: Flexible (remote or hybrid)

Bowel Cancer UK is the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. We're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. We support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.

We currently have around 70 staff based in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we're in a privileged position to be able to grow our staff team to deliver our ambitious new strategy, which we'll be launching in the spring. There are huge challenges facing bowel cancer patients across the UK, and our community needs us now more than ever. We're building a strong and united team to bring us closer to a world where nobody dies of bowel cancer.

The Senior Research Interpretation Officer is a vital new role in developing and implementing our ambitious research strategy. Working with the Research Manager, you'll lead on our research communications strategy, helping us to reach more people with bowel cancer.

With experience of science communications and a good understanding of academic and research activities in science, your aim will be to bring together new and existing content in a consistent and imaginative way. Skilled at explaining and translating research for a lay audience, you'll understand the importance and impact of our research, with the ability to tell compelling research stories to show our community where their donations go and how they made a difference. Most importantly, you'll have the desire to succeed and make a difference to the lives of people affected by bowel cancer.

If this sounds like you and you fit our person specification, you might be the person for us. In return you'll join our brilliant team and finish each day knowing you have played a central role in supporting people affected by bowel cancer.
