Position: Head of Marketing and Communications. (35 hours per week. Fixed term, 12 month contract ending May 2023)
Reporting to: Director of Research and External Affairs
Salary: £48,000 per annum, pro rata (plus London weighting if applicable)
Location: Home-based across UK

Bowel Cancer UK is the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. We're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. We support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.

We're looking for a talented and experienced Head of Marketing and Communications to take on this central and strategically important position within the charity for a 12 month period while our current post holder is on maternity leave.

You'll be responsible for all external and internal communications, promoting and communicating the work of the charity to a wide range of audiences. You'll play a crucial role in determining the overall positioning of the organisation, its profile and brand awareness and you'll lead on all marketing and communications strategies, projects and campaigns right across the charity.

With extensive experience of working for a charity, not for profit or within the health sector and broad marketing and communications experience across all channels, you'll have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. You'll build strong working relationships both internally and externally and provide exceptional copywriting, editing and proofreading.

You'll have a proven track record in creating and delivering strategic campaigns with measurable outputs as well as experience of team and people management. Most importantly, you'll have the desire to succeed and make a difference to the lives of everyone affected by bowel cancer.
