Terms and conditions: fixed term, 18 months. Full time (35 hours a week), or part time hours negotiable.
Bowel Cancer UK is the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. We're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. We support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.
Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer, but it needn't be because it's treatable and curable when diagnosed early. Our vision is a future where nobody dies of bowel cancer and our new strategy launching this year focusses on making this a reality by increasing the number of cases diagnosed at the earliest stages. The first step is increasing awareness – awareness of the disease, of the red flag symptoms and of the importance of screening. From promoting our programme of targeted roadshows to supporting our major new symptoms awareness campaign, this role will be key to making sure our awareness activities succeed.
You'll play a critical role producing content that helps ensure our communications are of the highest quality and have real impact. You'll help to deliver projects by using your own skills and commissioning external partners to produce materials such as film, photos, podcasts, graphics, interviews and print.
If this sounds like the role for you, we'd love to hear from you. We're looking to increase diversity in our team and welcome anyone who feels they may only have some of the skills outlined, but who would be willing to learn the other elements of the role fast. What's important isn't the education or opportunities you've had, but your willingness to seize the prospects ahead of you. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of people affected by bowel cancer.
