Women of Scotland Lunch announce us as their chosen charity
We're delighted to announce the Women of Scotland Lunch have chosen us as their 2020 beneficiary.
Held on Friday 24 April 2020, the Women of Scotland Lunch is an annual event organised to celebrate the great achievements of women in the country. As part of the partnership, Deborah James (@bowelbabe), who was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer at the age of 35, will speak about her diagnosis and treatment.
All money raised from the event will go towards our 'Improving Surgery, Saving Lives' appeal to establish Scotland's first Colorectal Cancer Surgical Research Chair.
Emma McGeever, Scotland's Fundraising Manager at Bowel Cancer UK, said: "We are thrilled to have been chosen as the Women of Scotland's Lunch beneficiary. Bowel cancer is Scotland's second biggest cancer killer, but together with organisations like Women of Scotland's Lunch we can stop people dying from this dreadful disease."
