Free Colorectal Cancer Study Day for Healthcare Professionals in Scotland
Monday 29 October 2018
We are organising a free Colorectal Cancer Study Day for healthcare professionals on Friday 30 November 2018 at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. This is the first colorectal cancer study day the charity has organised in Scotland.
Chaired by Susan Moug, Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at the Royal Alexandra Hospital Paisley and Honorary Clinical Associate Professor University of Glasgow, the free study day is an essential update on prevention, risk, screening, treatment and survivorship. It’s aimed at practitioners who provide treatment and care for people with colorectal in primary and secondary care settings.
Colorectal cancer, also known as bowel cancer or colon cancer, is Scotland’s second biggest cancer killer with more than 1,600 people dying from the disease every year in the country. However, bowel cancer is treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early.
