Free colorectal cancer study day for healthcare professionals in Northern Ireland
We are organising a free Colorectal Cancer Study Day for healthcare professionals on Thursday 14 November 2019 at Europa Hotel, Belfast. This is the first time the charity has hosted a study day in Northern Ireland.
The free study day is an essential update on the changes to the bowel screening programme, the importance of genetic counselling, top tips for practitioners on how to look after themselves in challenging situations, and talks from surgeons, nurses and patients.
The study day is aimed at practitioners who provide treatment and care for people with colorectal cancer in primary and secondary care settings across Northern Ireland.
Colorectal cancer, also known as bowel or colon cancer, is Northern Ireland's second biggest cancer killer with more than 400 people dying from the disease every year in the country. However, bowel cancer is treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early.
