We’re holding a bowel cancer community support event in Edinburgh
Friday 18 October 2024
Our free community support event is taking place in Edinburgh on Monday 21 October. It’s a chance for people affected by bowel cancer, including family and friends, to hear from expert speakers and meet others with similar experiences.
Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in Scotland with around 4,000 people diagnosed every year.
Throughout the day, you'll have the chance to connect with others who are going through similar experiences. You'll also learn more about bowel cancer through expert-led information and support sessions. We'll be exploring topics including looking after your emotional wellbeing, eating well with bowel cancer, sexual wellbeing after colorectal treatment, keeping active and getting back to exercise.
Our ‘Living well with bowel cancer’ event is designed to help you feel better able to cope with bowel cancer and find out how we can support you and your loved ones through diagnosis and treatment.
Catherine Winsor, Director of Services at Bowel Cancer UK, says: “This is a fantastic opportunity for those affected by bowel cancer to learn more about living well with the disease and the support services provided by the charity. We can’t wait for you to join us on Monday 21 October and be welcomed into our wonderful community.”
