Register for your free place at our online support event 'Living well with a stoma', being delivered by Melissa Holland and Wynne Roberts.
Melissa, who is Lead Stoma Clinical Nurse Specialist at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, will provide an introduction to stomas, and what to expect with both temporary and permanent stomas. She'll offer guidance on how to manage problems and suggest practical adjustments you can make to live well with a stoma.
Wynne, who volunteers for us in Wales, will be sharing his personal experience of living with a stoma, and how he managed day-to-day life before his stoma reversal.
You'll be able to ask Melissa and Wynne questions live on the day too.
A stoma is where a section of bowel is brought out through an opening in the stomach area. Poo is collected in a pouch or bag attached to the skin around the stoma. Some people struggle to get used to their stoma and find it difficult to manage day-to-day life. Others find it affects the way they see themselves.
To join the event you'll need to download Zoom to a laptop, computer, smartphone or tablet with sound and be connected to the internet.
