This virtual education event was developed to provide you with an overview of the importance and benefits of pre-operative anaemia management. We covered the introduction of this treatment in the NHS, the different treatment modalities and patient outcomes, the role of colorectal clinical nurse specialists, as well as recent developments and the future of anaemia management.

About the speaker

Dr Ravishankar Rao Baikady, Consultant in Anaesthesia and Peri-operative Medicine, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust

Dr Rao Baikady has a specialist interest in peri-operative medicine research in blood management, Anaesthesia, prehabilitation, and Cardiopulmonary exercise testing. His interest in peri-operative anaemia management has seen him develop an anaemia clinic and dedicated anaemia service.
