Bowel Cancer UK is the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. We're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. We support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.
We're looking for a brilliant Volunteer Development Manager to take our volunteering offer to new heights and to lead the implementation of our new volunteering strategy.
You'll lead the delivery and implementation of the new approach, expand our volunteering offer across the organisation as well as taking responsibility for our existing volunteers and ensure anyone volunteering with us gets a first class experience from start to finish. This is a new role and as such will develop in the first year as we adopt new ways of working and attract more volunteers. Initially you can expect to be hands on, supporting the awareness programme and its volunteers and delivering training across the organisation. In time, the role will develop and expand its reach – it's really up to you to shape the role to best meet our needs.
If you fit our person specification, have a can-do attitude and are willing to roll your sleeves up and pitch in to get a job done then this might be the role for you. In return you will join our brilliant team, be able to work flexibly and finish each day knowing you have played a central role in supporting people affected by bowel cancer.
