Position: Senior Public Affairs and Campaigns Officer (England)
Reporting to: Policy and Influencing Manager (England)
Salary: £31,500 per annum plus £2,000 London weighting
Location: London hybrid
Fixed Term Contract: 12 months fixed term contract (maternity cover)
Bowel Cancer UK is the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. We're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. We support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.
We currently have around 70 staff based in England, Wales Scotland and Northern Ireland. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we're in a privileged position to be able to grow our staff team to deliver our ambitious new strategy. There are huge challenges facing bowel cancer patients across the UK, and our community needs us now more than ever. We're building a strong and united team to bring us closer to a world where nobody dies of bowel cancer.
We have an exciting opportunity in our growing and ambitious team as our Senior Public Affairs and Campaigns Officer. You'll be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of public affairs and campaigns activity in order to achieve real change through influencing policy and legislation on health services which impact the lives of people affected by bowel cancer in England. We're looking for someone with a passion for influencing, who has a proactive and creative approach to exploit external opportunities to drive real change. As well as the confidence and personal authority to inspire and motivate others and build strong relationships with parliamentarians.
