Care UK Healthcare, helping us make a difference for everyone affected by bowel cancer
We were delighted to be chosen as the charity partner of Care UK Healthcare in November 2018. To kick off the partnership we were thrilled to receive an incredibly generous £10,000 donation. Over the year, staff from sites across England came together to raise almost £5,500 by taking part in a variety of fundraising activities.
Bake sales and raffles
Budding bakers worked hard showing off their talents from making a Bristol Stool Chart, skeleton biscuits and even burger inspired cupcakes. During Easter, they also raised £175 by organising a raffle to win some tempting Easter treats.
Colour run
In June 2019, staff at the head office took on the challenge of the Windsor Colour Obstacles Rush. Together this amazing team raised £345.
Wellness week
In August 2019, they created a wellness week to help give staff a physical and mental boost whilst raising vital funds towards our work. Activities included 30-minute yoga sessions, healthy smoothies and even a creative corner for colouring, painting and creating lavender bags. Over the course of the week £250 was raised.
Somerset show
Shepton Mallet Treatment Centre visited the Somerset Show this September raising over £100 by getting people to take a photo of them using their cut out board.
Barn dance
One of the largest fundraising events was a barn dance held in October 2019 by the team at Will Adams Treatment Centre. Around 120 people gathered at a local village hall to dance, have fun and raise almost £1,200 in the process. You can read more about the barn dance here.
Bookstand and non-uniform days
At Emersons Green Treatment Centre, there has been a continuous bookstand for patients and staff to donate to us. They also regularly organised non-uniform days at the centre to help raise as much money as possible. The fantastic team raised £560!
