Specialist digital get together for colorectal cancer nurses
We're hosting the National Colorectal Cancer Nurses Network (NCCNN) digital get together next month, featuring expert speakers and specialist sessions relating to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
The event will take place over Zoom between 3pm and 5pm on Wednesday 16 September, and all nurses working in the colorectal cancer field are welcome to join.
Genevieve Edwards, Chief Executive at Bowel Cancer UK, will give an update on the charity’s activities over recent months and our new focus, and three experts will speak about topics including managing the long-term psychological effects of COVID-19 on nurses and their patients; treating those living with advanced stages of colorectal cancer; and the effects of coronavirus on people with the disease.
The session will end with the sixth annual Gary Logue Awards, which recognise the work of exceptional colorectal cancer nurses.
The awards were set up in memory of Gary Logue, who worked as a nurse for the charity and passed away in 2014, in honour of the contribution he made during his career.
