Join our virtual Living Well with Bowel Cancer event
We're hosting our first virtual patient event on Saturday 19 June from 10.30am – 2pm, and we'd love for you to join us.
Hosted on Zoom, this free information and support event is for anyone affected by bowel cancer. It's a chance to hear from experts, such as:
- Dr Philippa Kaye, a GP who writes a weekly column in Woman magazine and is regularly seen on ITV's This Morning, will be sharing her personal experience of bowel cancer.
- Robin Muir, a clinical psychologist at Maggie's Manchester, will talk about coping with a cancer diagnosis and tips to help manage the disease.
- Darren Fernandes, Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology, will cover how to cope with the side effects of treatment.
There will also be an opportunity to hear from other people affected by bowel cancer, ask questions and share experiences with others. The event will close with a relaxing wellbeing session.
Catherine Winsor, Director of Services at Bowel Cancer UK, says: "More than 42,000 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year in the UK, making it the fourth most common cancer. But we're here for you. A diagnosis of bowel cancer may be a huge moment your life, and you're likely to have a range of thoughts, emotions and questions. Join our free information and support event to hear from experts about how you can live well with bowel cancer, ask questions and share experiences."
