Knitting Challenge competition rules

These rules (“the rules”) apply to the Knitting Challenge competition (the “Competition”), and by taking part in the competition you are agreeing to comply with them, and confirm you satisfy the terms and conditions below.

The Knitting Challenge is organised by Bowel Cancer UK (Registered charity number 1071038 (England & Wales) and SC040914 (Scotland).  

This competition is administered solely by Bowel Cancer UK and is not affiliated with any UK knitting groups, club or partnerships.  

Prize  

The prize draw is open to all those who raise over £100 by the date of 31 March 2026.  

The prize is confirmed as one of Scheepjes Scrumptious Colour Pack.  

Participants based inside of the UK will be eligible for this Scheepjes Scrumptious Colour Pack prize only. Bowel Cancer UK have the right to offer participants based outside of the UK, a prize of equal monetary value.

Any teams with members from multiple countries will be eligible for the one prize only and based on the address provided at registration.   

This prize is subject to change and may be replaced by a similar prize of equivalent, or greater, monetary value at the sole discretion of Bowel Cancer UK, if reasonably required.  

Prize winners are responsible for arranging to redeem the prize, paying all costs associated with the prize that are not specifically stated in these Terms and Conditions. Bowel Cancer UK will not liaise with the company should there be queries about redeeming prizes and will not be responsible for the quality of the prize received.  

Participant entry  

• Participants aged under 16 years old must have permission from an adult to take part.  

• There is a maximum of one entry per team into the Competition. You cannot be part of more than one team. A team can consist of one multiple team members who have participated in the Knitting Challenge. 

• Only entrants who are fully registered for the Knitting Challenge 2025 are eligible to take part in the competition.

Competition rules

• The prize will be awarded to the winner based on a random number selector. All donations will count towards the final total. These donations must appear on an official online fundraising page as part of the March knitting challenge, or sent to Bowel Cancer UK before the date specified of 31 March 2026. Sponsorship made outside this timing will not be counted.   

• Competition closes for entry at 11.59pm on 31 March 2026. Any donations made after this date and time specified will not be taken into consideration and will not be eligible for this competition.  

• The winner will be displayed in the  Knitting Challenge Facebook group by 5pm Friday 3 April 2026.  

• The winner will be notified by email and/or phone call by the Bowel Cancer UK Community Team, by 5pm Friday 3 April 2026.  

• Should the winner be an employee of Bowel Cancer UK who is taking part in the Knitting Challenge, the prize will be reallocated to the next fundraiser.  

• The prize cannot be exchanged for another item or exchanged for cash.  

• The prize will be posted by Bowel Cancer UK directly to the winner by a date agreed by both parties upon notification of winning the prize. 

Advertising of stated competition 

• All Knitting Challenge participants will receive details of the competition, including link to the rules and how to take part to the email address supplied upon sign up.  

• All advertising will abide by the rules indicating clear ways to take part and including a link to the rules.
