Whether you're having an intimate meal or throwing a big birthday bash, your fundraising event can make a difference in the lives of people affected by bowel cancer.
Planning your celebration
- Decorations – we've got balloons, banners and collection boxes to help you decorate. Get in touch to request your party pack.
- Promotion – spread the word about your fundraising with our special 'Supporting Bowel Cancer UK' logo. Add to event invitations, posters or social media posts.
- Theme – make your party one to remember by setting a theme. From afternoon tea to fancy dress, the options are endless!
- Fundraising activities – raise extra funds throug h a raffle or a quiz and visit our resource centre for tips on keeping these safe and legal. We've put together some quiz suggestions too!
Catherine celebrated her 60th with us
Catherine set up a JustGiving page for party guests to make donations to help support others as she was supported following her diagnosis in 2015.
“In May 2015 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 bowel cancer. I had celebrated my 50th birthday in the previous July. For almost 18 months it felt like my world stopped as I went through two operations, six months of chemo and some recovery time before I stepped back into almost "normal" life. I am now in my 9th year clear of cancer. That's something to celebrate but also a time to think about how lucky I was that there was treatment out there for me to put right what was wrong.”
“I had already decided to throw a party to celebrate my 60th as I had for my 50th, so I chose to ask for donations to Bowel Cancer UK rather than gifts. I set up my JustGiving page and included that information on my invitations. There was also an option to donate on the night and Bowel Cancer UK had provided me with donation boxes, balloons and sponsor forms. The venue also kindly agreed to put one of the boxes on the bar to collect any loose change. Myself, friends and family had a great night, it all went very quickly but I’m so pleased that I‘ve helped to raise over £1,100 for such a great cause”.
