Thursday 4 October 2018
We're thrilled to announce our Chief Executive Deborah Alsina MBE has been named the Charity Principal of the Year at this year's Charity Times Awards.
This prestigious award was presented at a ceremony at Park Plaza Hotel, London on Wednesday 3 October. It recognises a chief executive who has consistently delivered outstanding leadership and a clear vision in the running of a charity – which, we believe, Deborah does in abundance!
Deborah Alsina MBE, Chief Executive of Bowel Cancer UK, said: "I'm honoured to receive this award. It is a reflection of the tireless work of the charity's staff, trustees, and our incredible supporters who make our work possible.
"Bowel Cancer UK and Beating Bowel Cancer joined together in January 2018 to create a future where nobody dies of the disease. This award celebrates the work the new charity does to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer."
Deborah was also named Charity Chief Executive of the Year in the Third Sector Excellence Awards 2017, nominated by patients to receive an MBE in the Queen's 90th Birthday Honours list 2016, announced as Charity Comms Inspiring Communicator award in 2017 and has been named in the top 30 Social CEO Awards every year since it was founded in 2013 that recognises and celebrates brilliant charity leaders on social media.
In 2016, we were announced Charity of the year (£1-10m) at the Charity Times Awards.
