Care UK Healthcare staff vote to partner with us
We’ve been announced as Care UK Healthcare’s first charity partner, after their staff voted for us!
Care UK Healthcare is the largest provider of clinical services to the NHS. Staff at their NHS treatment centres and offices from across the country voted for us as their Charity of the Year.
The partnership will support the charity’s work to help stop people dying of bowel cancer by raising money for their vital services and life-saving research.
Managing Director of Secondary Care at Care UK Andy Lunt said: “More than nine out of ten new cases are diagnosed in people over the age of 50, and nearly six out of ten cases are diagnosed in people aged 70 or over.
“This is the age group of many of the patients who visit the nine NHS Treatment Centres we run on behalf of the NHS. As well as an initial donation of £10,000, we hope the centres will provide an excellent way for the charity to promote bowel health.
“We also know that the teams at these centres are keen to support the charity through their own fundraising initiatives.”
Luke Squires, Director of Fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be chosen as Care UK Healthcare’s charity partner. Bowel cancer is the UK’s second biggest cancer killer, but because of the support of amazing organisations like Care UK Healthcare we can continue to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.”
