In this session, held on Tuesday 8 April 2025, Noreen Chindawi, Nurse Anoscopist, provided an overview of anal cancer, covering symptoms risks and causes. In addition, they covered staging and treatment for anal cancer, as well as long term side effects for these treatments. Noreen also took the time to discuss the latest research in anal cancer treatments.
This virtual education event aimed to cover:

- Short and long-term effects of treatment for anal cancer
- Research in treatment for anal cancer
Attendees also had the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with expert speaker Noreen Chindawi.
About the speaker
Noreen Chindawi, Nurse Anoscopist, Homerton Healthcare Foundation Trust
Noreen Chindawi, Dip Nursing, BSN, NMP — Is a Nurse Anoscopist and Anal Cancer CNS at Homerton Healthcare Foundation Trust (London) in the Homerton Anogenital Neoplasia Service (HANS). She has worked at this Trust for the past 21 years and with 30 years of clinical experience, she has a diverse background in Surgical nursing.
In the anogenital neoplasia service she supports people diagnosed with anal cancer, before, during and after their treatment. As a High Resolution Anoscopist (HRA) she is part of the HANS screening and treatment service for people who are at risk of or have developed anogenital pre-cancerous lesions. She runs post-anal cancer clinics, trains nurses across the country to support the development of new HRA local services, as well as train Anoscopists.
