We’re the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. We're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. We support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.

We currently have around 90 staff based in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we’re in a privileged position to be able to grow our staff team to deliver our ambitious 5-year strategy, On a Mission. There are huge challenges facing bowel cancer patients across the UK, and our community needs us now more than ever. We're building a strong and united team to bring us closer to a world where nobody dies of bowel cancer.

Our aim is to ensure that, regardless of where patients live in the UK, our services and support are accessible, relevant, and meet the needs of those we serve. The Community Services Engagement Manager will lead the continued development of this new team, supporting the staff based in each devolved nation (England to follow in 2025) to engage with critical stakeholders, promote our support offering, gather insight and feedback from the different communities and populations around how to improve our services and work with other managers in the team and across the organisation to drive improvement and ensure we meet the needs of our entire patient community. As Community Services Engagement Manager you’ll play a central role in helping us achieve greater and more effective reach and impact for the bowel cancer community.

We're looking for someone dynamic, proactive and passionate about building relationships with health professionals, supporting patients through clinical and peer support services and raising awareness. You’ll work to further develop our newly formed Community Services Engagement team. We deliver a wide range of services and this role will ensure that these services are promoted and embedded across the UK and community insight feeds into the scope and development of services going forward. You’ll work with a wide range of teams in the organisation and communities externally to do so. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on improving lives for those affected by bowel cancer.

You’ll have experience of community engagement, working with a wide range of teams and managing remote teams. You’ll be confident leading an evolving team to maximise impact within their areas. You’ll also be responsible for evaluation and impact reporting across the team.

If you fit our person specification, have a can-do attitude and are willing to roll your sleeves up and pitch in to get a job done then this might be the role for you. In return you will join our brilliant team, be able to work flexibly and finish each day knowing you have played a central role in supporting people affected by bowel cancer.
