Help us to stop bowel cancer

Book a talk

A key part of our work is educating patients, the public and healthcare professionals about bowel cancer by providing expert information and training.

Hosting a bowel cancer awareness talk in your workplace or community group is an ideal way to raise awareness of the UK’s second biggest cancer killer and encourage good bowel health.

We give free 30 minute talks to the private, public and voluntary sectors and our programme has been recognised with a prestigious award from the Royal Society of Public Health.

Would you like to host an awareness talk?

Our trained volunteers across the UK have personal experience of bowel cancer and present the facts about the disease as well as highlighting their own experiences. Talks are given to community groups, workplaces, or anywhere an existing group comes together. Our talk covers:

  • Signs and symptoms
  • Risk factors
  • Healthy lifestyle and bowel cancer prevention
  • Bowel cancer screening

Talks can be tailored to the setting and time available. We recommend that the talk is promoted with a poster or email and takes place at a time when a group normally meets. Our volunteers can bring a paper 'flipchart' presentation or a memory stick. If we do not have a volunteer in your area we have a film available for you to show.

If you would like to book a talk, please complete the form below and one of our coordinators will contact you.

Today’s sessions went extremely well… there was a good deal of engagement and the feedback was positive. We had a few people coming forward with symptoms who are now going to make appointments for check-ups, that is a great result! Talk host, Renfrewshire
