Beating bowel cancer together

Our events

Page updated: Friday 20 March 2020

There are a number of support events we had organised for the coming weeks that we've had to rethink in light of the current situation.

Are your Meet Together events still going ahead?

We have taken the difficult decision to cancel the next two events – Cheltenham on Saturday 18 April and Edinburgh on Saturday 25 April.  We’re monitoring and following government guidance and will make a decision for the remaining events closer to the time.

Our Meet Together events are a social meet up to come along and chat with others living with and beyond bowel cancer and build connections with people who have been through something similar. If you were planning to attend one of our events that has been cancelled, you might be interested in joining our online community. It’s a welcoming place for everyone affected by bowel cancer, including family and friends, to ask questions, read about people’s experiences and support each other. From diagnosis and treatment, to living with and beyond bowel cancer, the community is here for you at any time. Join us at bowelcanceruk.org.uk/community

Are the Living with Bowel Cancer Support Days still going ahead?

After careful consideration and in line with current government guidance on social distancing, we’ve taken the difficult decision to cancel our Living with Bowel Cancer Support Days planned for Saturday 30 May in London and Saturday 6 June in Glasgow. We’ll continue to monitor the situation closely and will keep this page updated with news about these events.

If you were planning to attend, you might be interested in joining our online community. Are you still encouraging people to hold Brew Together events?

No. Due to the current situation, rather than meeting up for a Brew Together, why not hold a virtual event? Send invitations by email or WhatsApp to your friends and family and arrange a time to all put the kettle on and enjoy a cuppa, a piece of cake and a chat over the phone or by video.

By drinking tea/coffee and making a donation via our website, your support will truly make a difference. The money raised from your Brew Together event will help fund vital services and lifesaving research.

Is your Remember Together event on Sunday 5 April still going ahead?

We’ve made the difficult decision not to hold our Remember Together event. We’re looking at options for holding the virtual event and will keep our website and our supporters updated on this.
