HRH Duke of Cambridge hails our merger as a success
On Tuesday 23 January, our Chief Executive, Deborah Alsina MBE, met HRH the Duke of Cambridge at the Charity Commission’s Annual Public Meeting at the Royal Institution.
In his key note address, HRH specifically highlighted our merger as an example of best practice and worthy of praise.
The Duke of Cambridge said: “The forthcoming merger of Bowel Cancer UK and Beating Bowel Cancer – two charities working to similar ends, and which are merging from a position of strength – is hugely worthy of praise. Together, I have no doubt that they will achieve more to fight bowel cancer together than they could have done on their own.”
After his speech, Deborah was then invited to speak to HRH privately about our ambitious plans.
Deborah Alsina MBE, Chief Executive, said: “We were absolutely delighted to receive the support of HRH the Duke of Cambridge for our recent merger and for our important work to save lives from bowel cancer, the UK’s second biggest cancer killer. It was an honour to have the opportunity to meet him and to share our ambitious plans for the future. Plans that are only achievable now that we are one charity working together to stop bowel cancer.”
