Community Outreach Officer
Applications close Monday 6th May
Bowel Cancer UK is the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We are determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. We support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic outreach officer to carry out a specific piece of bowel cancer awareness work aimed at recruiting bowel cancer ambassadors from a community setting with a view to increasing the uptake of screening.
The Community Outreach Officer will align their work with the priorities of the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, working to raise awareness, identify and reduce barriers in order to improve the uptake of bowel cancer screening across the Aneurin Bevan local health board area.
The post is for 12 months, and at the end of this period, the initiative will be evaluated to assess its suitability for upscaling to other areas and mainstreaming into the longer term work programme of Bowel Screening Wales.
The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues who are funded through the Moondance Bowel Cancer Initiative and will deliver on the health professional and public awareness and education work stream.
We are unashamedly ambitious and determined to stop this disease for good. If you share our determination and are ready for the challenge of a leadership role with the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity, we very much want to hear from you.
To apply, email your CV and a letter of not more than two pages explaining how you fit the person specification and why you would like this role to email@example.com.
