Finsbury Park Festival of Running: Raising Awareness of Bowel Cancer

Monday, February 20, 2012

Bowel Cancer UK is delighted to announce that this March the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation will host the Finsbury Park Festival of Running, to raise awareness of bowel cancer and funds for charities, including Bowel Cancer UK.

Taking place on Sunday 4th March the event will see a host of running fans take part in a 5k fun run.

The foundation focuses on providing sports, health training, and education programmes to its communities in the London Boroughs of Haringey, Waltham Forest, Enfield and Barnet and the District Council of Epping Forest. The fun run underlines the organisation's sentiments, as regular exercise has been proven to help reduce the risk of bowel cancer.

The run begins at 11.30 and to make sure it's a fun day for all the family, inflatables and other activities will be on site to entertain. Bowel Cancer UK will also be on hand to raise awareness of the symptoms of bowel cancer and to share information about ways to minimise your risk of developing it.

Runners on the day will receive a Tottenham Hotspur Foundation medal and t-shirt on completion of the race and prizes will also be given out for the fastest runners and groups.
