Bowled over for Bowel Cancer UK

Thursday, August 11, 2011

Around two hundred excited cricket fans turned up to watch our patron and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club captain Chris Read on Tuesday 9th at his annual 20:20 match at Car Colston Cricket club.

Lucky members of the public who secured the highest bids also played alongside Notts team mates Adam Vogues, Luke Fletcher, Steven Mullaney, Riki Wessels, Andre Adams and Paul Franks who all joined in the fun.

Batsman Chris said "It was an amazing fun day for keen cricketers and their families and a chance to raise over £6,000 for Bowel Cancer UK and the Laura Rose Memorial Trust. Thank you to all those who generously helped make the day a success especially Dr Comfort and The Lurid Revelations, No 8 deli, Brewin Dolphin and all the fans whose good spirits made it a memorable day. "

Chris hopes to raise £7,000 from the day and this will be split between Bowel Cancer UK and the Laura Rose Memorial Trust.
