Volunteer
Would you like to volunteer for Bowel Cancer UK? We are
always looking for enthusiastic people to help with our work.
If you would like to support the work of Bowel Cancer UK
we have a range of volunteering opportunities:
Do you have a story to tell?
We are keen to hear from people with experience of bowel cancer
(patients, survivors, relatives and carers) willing to share their
stories on our website and to assist us in our media, marketing and
campaigning activity.
Fundraising volunteers
We are always looking for enthusiastic faces to come along to
our events to help us support our fundraisers as they run, swim or
cycle their way to the finish line! We also need volunteers to be
marshals for our sponsored walks and to come collecting with us
throughout the year when we hold public collections.
Give bowel cancer awareness talks
Our awareness volunteers work to communicate with and inspire
people by delivering our awareness talks to groups within local
communities and workplaces. We believe that people with experience
of bowel cancer, either personally or through a family member or
friend, are uniquely equipped to raise awareness and deliver these
talks.
Volunteer at information stands
Our community volunteers do this by attending our awareness
stands in the local community, at workplaces and at health
events. Talking to members of the public, one-to-one, is a
very effective way to engage people. We also use this
opportunity to disseminate our information leaflets to a variety of
people who can read the information in their own time.
Research participants
We are often looking for people with experience of bowel cancer
to volunteer and take part in focus group discussions in order to
gain insight into patients' experience of their treatment and
care.
Volunteer at our Offices
If you are London or Edinburgh based we do at times require
volunteers. Let us know how you would like to get involved.
